FAQ

What counts as work experience in the media sector?

Experience in the field is a prerequisite. Internships, traineeships and freelance work can meet the criteria.

Can I apply without any experience in the media sector?

No. Experience in this field is a prerequisite and includes media-related professions such as public relations and advertising.

Are traineeships and internships in a media-related field recognized as professional experience?

Yes, if the traineeship or internship experience was acquired after completing your studies. Additionally, your employer needs to certify that you worked full-time and were actively involved as well as given opportunities to make media-related contributions.

How can I submit proof of my work experience as a freelancer?

If you have been working as a self-employed freelancer, you can submit a certificate or recommendation from your employer(s) if applicable, and / or links to your publications and project work.

Can I apply even if I haven't yet completed a full year in a media-related field?

It is basically up to you to decide when to apply to the program.

Ideally, you should have already worked for at least 12 months in the media sector when you apply. At the very least, you must have acquired this experience by the time the program begins in September. In other words, you can apply if you have not yet completed a full year in the field but your chances of being accepted are higher if you fulfill the requirements at the time of applying.
