Trust in news media worldwide stands at approximately 40 percent and the role of journalism in shaping public discourse is as contested as never before. Across the globe, we are witnessing a proliferation of formats, voices, and storytelling approaches that are reshaping not just what is said in public, but how, by whom, and to what end. As media formats evolve, so does the landscape of public dialogue itself: from podcasts that unpack complex social issues, to slow journalism that prioritizes depth over speed, to grassroots initiatives focusing on underrepresented voices.

"Let’s Talk! A Dialogue About Dialogue" is a curated digital collection and ongoing thought experiment aimed at exploring these shifting dynamics. We're bringing together diverse voices from across the media ecosystem – journalists, researchers, podcast producers, media development practitioners, editors, and digital creators – to reflect on how journalism can foster meaningful public dialogue in an age of polarization and distrust.

We invite contributions from practitioners, researchers, and thinkers working at the intersection of journalism, media innovation, and public discourse.
Contact us if you are:
• Experimenting with new formats for audience engagement
• Researching trust, representation, or democratic resilience
• Developing dialogue-based approaches to journalism
• Working on community-centered or participatory media projects
• Exploring solutions to polarization through media practice

Timeline and process:
• Submission deadline for proposals: 12.12.2025
• Selection and feedback: 09.01.2025
• Publication/Launch: March – May 2026

Selected contributors will be invited to participate in one or more live events throughout 2025–2026, where we'll continue the conversation through panels, workshops, and public discussions
