OUR PROJECT

moldova youth

Our project “Youth Meets Media”  is a meet up for you; for the media interested youth, for those who want to meet internationals from Serbia, Bosnia, Ukraine, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, for those who want to create something new: Bringing together international media creators in this context provides space to bring ideas and interests forwards.

This event is embedded in Deutsche Welle Akademie’s project in Moldova: Our focus lies on strengthening the freedom of speech within the country. Under the mottoMoldova’s youth – critical, informed, involved”, we promote media competence sustainably.

Due to our Media and Information Literacy (MIL) strategy, we work closely with state and civil society actors to ensure the embedding of this aim. We want to secure the focus on the youth by making sure the main partners in Moldova are educational and youth institutions. Working for and especially with the youth should always be the main objective.

ABOUT US

As Deutsche Welle Akademie we are more than grateful to host such an event. Being an organization which focuses on freedom of expression and which works towards reaching international standards such as independent media and independent journalism for all, and, consequently, independent people, this meet up represents what we believe in: having faith in the youth to create a new and free media landscape.

MEDIA SLAM

Let’s get ready to ruuuumble!

The first ever Media Slam in Moldova will be taking place at our Youth Meets Media event in March 2019.

Wait – a what?!

The Media Slam was developed close to the concept of the Science Slam. With the idea of bringing science, fun and entertainment to a stage, Gregor Büning developed the concept of the Science Slam and now will come to our event in Moldova to realize the first ever Media Slam.

And this is where it gets even better: You have the possibility to become a slammer. What do you need to do for this? If you have an original, fresh idea on how media can change lives or how youth and media connect, or even maybe if you’re working on a new media project: apply! Tell us your story! You can be part of this moment.

And don’t worry, you won’t be left alone: Gregor Büning, founder of science slam, and Sergey Savchuk, chief executive of Science Slam Russia, will be your personal coaches for the slam and let you into all the small and important secrets you need to know to win this slam.

The winner of this slam will be walking away with the pride of being the first media slammer of Moldova and the typical golden boxing gloves.

Jan Lindenau, journalist and video producer from “Die Welt”, will join us in this event as a guest slammer.

And now: FIGHT!

Don't get lost!

Our locations are:
