"Once the journalists think they know everything, they fail." - DW Akademie's Director Carsten von Nahmen.
Last week the UA:PBC UA: Суспільне мовлення Regional Conference was held at the Pencil TV Center. The importance of the lifelong learning and how to encourage employees to develop their skills was discussed at the panel discussion with DW Akademie's Director Carsten von Namen and Head of the management board UA:PBC Zurab Alasania.
“Our world is changing too fast to focus on the knowledge we have already acquired,” said DW Akademie director.
Zurab Alasania noted that UA: Public Broadcaster is a place where employees' additional skills are highly appreciated. Creating an atmosphere of motivation and giving opportunities for the systematic capacity building of the team is one of the priorities of the company: “Public Media Academy of UA:PBC supports the employees and shows good results: last year we managed to conduct 68 trainings.”
During the discussion, the managers and producers of the Community branches were interested in foreign experience of organizational development and employee' trainings. UA:PBC producer Olena Kvasha found the topic of discussion really relevant: “Life long learning is not only a global trend, but also an especially important skill in the media community.”
