A couple in Cape Verde have built a sustainable home using an ancient technique called cob. Given the lack of affordable homes on the island, they think other families could do the same.
Having a unique home. This was the wish of couple Neiva Centeio and Filomeno Borges. They invested in making their home sustainable. The house was built in 2016 using ancient technique called Cob. Clay is the main raw material. There is no cement or iron. The 150-square-meter residence attracts curious onlookers. In Cape Verde where housing is tight, the couple sees it as an alternative for other families.
